Why Isn't The Garage Cleaned Yet?!?!
Apartment residents and those renting the stalls in the underground parking garage have been asking this very question! "Uggg...why isn't the garage cleaned yet?!?" It's so dusty, and the gravel is gross and my car gets dusty...what on earth is going on?!?!
Yes, I am also an apartment dweller and have gotten a little frustrated with the slow clean up but since joining the board I have learned there is method to this madness!
The actual problem is that we've discovered an issue with water pooling at the bottom of the garage ramp. That pooled water likes to move up to the amenity room cement wall and erode it! In addition, the water does not drain properly due to the garage floor at the bottom of the ramp being uneven and the drain being plugged with debris.
So what does this have to do with the spring cleaning of the garage? Well, everything. The floor at the bottom of the ramp needs to be broken up and redone. We have had to hold off on the cleaning of the garage because the amount of rubble and dust made from fixing the floor will cause us to have to clean the area all over again. The cost to do that twice is not feasible so we are going to hold off (for a little while) until we can:
1) Determine which contractor we should use to fix this
2) Perform the work
3) Call in our cleaners!
